Kingsley Irons presents:
Rupture
Kingsley Iron's visceral storytelling draws us into a mysterious female ritual space. In this fragile and brutal world with secretive shadowy figures, paper dolls, and women in birdcages, she questions our perceptions of tradition, history, power, and unity. She interweaves intricate movement, text, and visual art with a haunting original musical score composed by Derrick Spiva Jr. Rupture is influenced by Michel Foucault's treatise, Discipline and Punish, the reconstructed choreography of Vaslav Nijinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps, the visual art of Kara Walker, and Lars von Trier's films Dogville and Manderlay.
